DESCRIPTION:We recently were awarded a $2\,000 grant to put together STEM kits that can be checked out by teachers and caregivers to bring STEM fun into the classroom and the home! We want to invite you to come and “Try Out” the new kits with us.  This will be a great opportunity to learn how the kits work\, what is available and play around having fun. We have everything from simple coding\, circuits\, Rube Goldberg type contraptions\, robots and even math manipulatives.  Open to teachers\, parents\, families\, and even grandparents!  We ask that kids come with an adult. *These kits are funded by IEEE\, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

DESCRIPTION: The event is sponsored by the Friends of the St. James Library. \nForensic Psychologist & True Crime author Frank F. Weber will speak about his forensic work and the writing of true crime mysteries. Frank’s newest book\, Scandal of Vandals\, and his 2025 release\, The Sun\, will be available at the event. Scandal of Vandals is based on a true Minnesota mystery that was once touted as “the crime of the century.” A prominent Twin Cities attorney was accused of hiring a hitman to kill his wife. The Sun involves the fallout on the lives of the same characters after the appeal. Frank will share information related to the case and give a live demonstration of a lie detector test (volunteer a friend).  Frank will be at  St. James Library signing books and answering individual questions by 4:30 p.m. and will be available for questions after the event.
